Living and leading from the wisdom of our essential nature.

Letting Nature Lead

" What is needed is a critical mass of people

who become more coherent with each other

and with the world around them".

Jane Goodall

New paradigm leadership explores the meeting places between inner wisdom and outer systems change. On a personal level, it cultivates the intelligences of the gut, heart and head to bring all our capacities online.

This gives us the skills to work with stress and overwhelm as we regulate our nervous system responses. It enables our decision making to be guided by compassion and care for self and other, versus polarised, black and white thinking. It supports both complexity thinking and creative pathways that can move us beyond stuck and outmoded responses.

Beyond our personal lives, we draw upon the connective tissue of community, to form a support system that can both dispel tensions and give buoyancy to our dreams and desires. We also explore where the flow in relationship may be blocked, and through developing our relational capacities including conflict resolution, we can work through issues and free the flow of the relational field.

Nature doesn't work in a vacuum, and as humans we can collectively create ripples and waves that cannot happen alone. To become part of a trusted community, to become one. another's mirrors and cheerleaders, to co-evolve, is what we will cultivate.

Fundamental to the approach is, how might we humans learn from the living world? Nature has evolved over millenia to create an eco-system that works on principles of holons and inter-dependance. It holds an incredible intelligence that has much to teach us about how to thrive as part of a wider system, if we are willing to learn.

Our ancestors lived in a reciprocal relationship with nature and knew how to listen to its wise guidance. The new science understands life as organic and non-linear, greatly in contrast to a patriachal paradigm which seeks to dominate and control.

Aligning with this wisdom means that our actions come from a place of feeling connected to the web of life, generating a desire to protect and preserve, versus use and abuse.

What happens when humanity aligns with nature's intelligence?

By nature, I mean the living systems of which we are a part,

but also, our essential nature, whatever that means to you,

be it Soul, Great Mystery, or Source.

In what ways might our society transform?

How might this change how we treat the planet, and one another,

if we allowed the wisdom of our essential nature to guide the way?

Testimonials

Anna:

"I found all the work deeply moving and the somatic

and movement work gave me new ways to inquire and

learn from my body. I felt deeply nourished by the

group interactions. Overall, I took away a reconnection

with my longing to bring my gifts into the world,

more clarity about what they are

as well as some practical steps to help me

move in this direction."

Mairead:

"I would whole heartedly recommend Aisling’s courses.

Aisling is a wise, kind soul with the most amazing facilitation skills!!

She allows space and draws you into a world where you become creative

and open with your thoughts, your past and even your sensuality.

I feel the benefits are still unfolding for me. I also believe the success

of the experience for me was the eclectic and fascinating group of

participants. I learnt so much from the other women who attended

each week as we shared our stories, laughter and tears together.

If you are looking for something truly nourishing for your soul,

I highly recommend!"

Sarah:

"This journey has been one of a kind for me.

Through this experience I discovered new things about myself

and learned invaluable lessons from the stories shared by the others.

Aisling beautifully facilitated the expression of individual experiences

and group activities, helping the group consolidate into a natural entity of empathy,

laughter, tears and creativity. Week after week a sense of flow and spontaneity

accompanied the meetings skilfully organised by Aisling.

While the course unfolded, I allowed myself to go deep within and

felt that Aisling’s warm and knowing guidance shed light where it was most needed.

I felt free to explore and share knowing that my vulnerability was welcomed

and that I was among friends. Since this course has been such a soul nourishing

experience for me I recommend it with all my heart."

An interview with Vandana Shiva,

Sarah: Let me wrap up with a personal question. Every time I’ve heard you speak or met you, you’ve had so much energy, not only intellectual energy, but personal or spiritual energy. I’m just wondering, what keeps you so alive?

Vandana: Well, it’s always a mystery, because you don’t know why you get depleted or recharged. But, this much I know. I do not allow myself to be overcome by hopelessness, no matter how tough the situation. I believe that if you just do your little bit without thinking of the bigness of what you stand against, if you turn to the enlargement of your own capacities, just that in itself creates new potential.

And I’ve learned from the Bhagavad Gita and other teachings of our culture to detach myself from the results of what I do, because those are not in my hands. The context is not in your control, but your commitment is yours to make, and you can make the deepest commitment with a total detachment about where it will take you. You want it to lead to a better world, and you shape your actions and take full responsibility for them, but then you have detachment. And that combination of deep passion and deep detachment allows me always to take on the next challenge because I don’t cripple myself, I don’t tie myself in knots. I function like a free being.

I think getting that freedom is a social duty because I think we owe it to each other not to burden each other with prescription and demands. I think what we owe each other is a celebration of life and to replace fear and hopelessness with fearlessness and joy."
